This Sounds Like A Good Idea

As many of you know I have asked and discussed for many years now how do we get young people in the hobby and keep them interested?

Came across an article from the UK that might answer one of my questions.  It appears to be an online club for amateurs under the age of 30.  Somebody a lot younger then me might like to read the enclosed article and start such a club here in VE7 land.  To me it sounds like a great idea!

New Youth Club set up!

A new and unique radio club has been set up in the UK!

The Young Hamsters are a club exclusively for young amateurs under the age of 30; promoting contesting, DXpeditions and operating amongst youngsters. The club is primarily active as MX0YHC and MS0YHC.

There is not currently any single club across the whole of the United Kingdom for young amateurs to come together and as such this represents a fantastic opportunity for people to join with a pioneering club in amateur radio to really further our hobby.

Membership is completely free and there are no forms to fill in – simply email to join or search for The Young Hamsters on Facebook!
