James Brooks, 9V1YC/N1YC, and Wilbert Knol, PE7T, are now active from Christmas Island (OC-002) until approximately April 21st.

They will be active as VK9X/N1YC and VK9X/PE7T on 80-10 meters using SSB and CW. They have no specific plans for Digital modes.

QSL via W5UE for VK9X/N1YC and via PE7T for VK9X/PE7T.

WSJT-X Version 1.9.0

The WSJT Development Group is pleased to announce a Release Candidate of WSJT-X Version 1.9.0. This is a second beta release, so it’s called v1.9.0-rc2. A first candidate release, v1.9.0-rc1, has already been tested in the field by a small test group. First Ducie Island DXpedition in a Decade Set for Late 2018

The Perseverance DX Group (PDXG) has announced plans to activate Ducie Island — a marine protected area — in October and November of 2018. The last Ducie Island DXpedition was VP6DX in 2008. Ducie is currently the 29th most-wanted DXCC entity according to ClubLog. The 2018 DXpedition would operate as VP6D. Continue reading
